As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, join us to celebrate at our annual Lights by The Lake 2022 event held at the Jurong Lake Gardens.
Organised in conjunction with President's Challenge, Lights by the Lake 2022 celebrates the nation's strength and resilience against diversity, to reunite Singaporeans and to raise awareness for the President's Challenge 2022.
Visit the spectacular displays lanterns at Jurong Lake Gardens that were hand-crafted by and enjoy weekly concerts by homegrown artists on Fridays and Saturdays from 25 August to 11 September.

Mexican culture and heritage takes centre stage at the Gardens’ latest floral display!
Presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Mexico, Hanging Gardens – Mexican Roots showcases vibrant floral interpretations and icons of ancient Mexican civilisations, including a 4.5m-tall reproduction of the iconic Chichén Itzá pyramid of the Mayans, the Aztec double-headed serpent, food and plants endemic to Mexico such as corns, chillies and tomatoes; and medallions with mosaic designs composed of seeds, beans and pulses.
Look forward to a floral extravaganza headlined by showy blooms like orchids, dahlias and bromeliads, decked in a plethora of buoyant colours that call to mind the lively hues often associated with Mexico.

Based on the theme of Reunion, this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates the fundamental significance of the festival, bringing family and friends together to enjoy the beautiful lantern displays that will light up the Gardens in the evenings. Built in the late 19th century as an important installation for protecting our coastline, Fort Siloso is now home to a wealth of WWII memorabilia, including the largest collection of coastal guns in Singapore. Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay’s 18th edition of Moonfest – A Mid-Autumn Celebration will mark the occasion with a wide array of free performances of traditional Chinese arts and ticketed workshops that everyone can enjoy with their families and friends.
In keeping with the festival’s objective to preserve traditions, Moonfest will present for the very first time, puppetry performances by Sin Hoe Ping, San Chun Long and Sin Ee Lye Heng performed in Henghua, Hainanese and Teochew respectively. These are fast-disappearing traditional arts troupes in Singapore and we hope that everyone can support and be inspired by their passion to preserve this intangible cultural heritage.

A Minion’s Perspective is a pop-up attraction based on the widely popular Despicable Me and Minions movie franchise created by Beast Kingdom under license from Universal Pictures and Illumination. The attraction has toured a few cities in North Asia since late 2018 and will be making its highly anticipated SEA debut in Singapore in 2022! Based on the world’s most successful animated film franchise, Illumination’s Despicable Me and Minions franchise, this international touring exhibition offers fans of all ages an opportunity to immerse themselves into the world of these record-setting films.
Following the successful tour in Seoul, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Jeju Island, Taipei, this 1,400 square meter exhibition will land in Singapore featuring eight thematic rooms including Gru’s lab, The Girl’s Room and Minions Zone. The characters in the franchise are a joyful retort to the real world’s conflicts, and a reminder that the best parts of life, no matter your age, usually involve a little mischief.

OFF / ON: Everyday Technology that Changed our Lives, 1970s – 2000s, is presented by the National Museum of Singapore, as part of its Collecting Contemporary Singapore initiative that aims to broaden the museum’s efforts in documenting diverse perspectives of contemporary Singapore. Experience the immersive showcase and explore how everyday technological tools changed and shaped the lives of Singaporeans from the 1970s to 2000s. Set against the backdrop of the nation’s industrialisation and rapid transformation period, the showcase takes visitors through familiar local settings at home, work and other social spaces with a small, yet specially curated selection of technology icons from Singapore’s past. These include the typewriter and personal computer, as well as telecommunications and entertainment devices such as the payphone, pager and the technicolour television set. Visitors can look forward to getting to know and reconnecting with some of these technologies, through several themed installations with complementary gamified experiences. The showcase runs until 30 October 2022.
